The Lord has been Gradually Transforming Me

My name is Milton Hocking. With my wife Ruth and family (three sons) I have lived in Tauranga since 1955, other than two years in Auckland in the sixties. The most important event in my life was my coming to the Lord in 1973. There had been much prayer for me prior to this. By God's mercy Ruth's mother who was a believer said the only solution to my problems was to cry out to the Lord to save me. This I did earnestly and can testify that I wept as the Lord's Spirit came into my being. From this point on, the Lord has been gradually transforming me in life and nature. I try to give the Lord pre-eminence in my life.

The Lord has placed the church as a golden lampstand here in Tauranga, and I realise I should be faithful to care for His testimony. We thank the Lord for the ministry of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee. We know that the Lord is continually moving on the earth to gain overcomers, so that He will have a way to come back. Like many churches, the church in Tauranga has had its ups and downs, with Satan trying to frustrate the building of Christ's Body. We can rely on the Lord's word when he said in Matt. 16:18, "Upon this rock (Christ) I will build my church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it." By the Lord's mercy and our faith and prayer, the church will be built up.

Each month the churches in Tauranga and Rotorua meet together for their Lord's Table meetings. Presently we are enjoying the fact that the God-men who have been perfected and matured are becoming overcomers, so we can enjoy the New Jerusalem. M.H
